Retail Items: Understanding the Scoreboard

The retail items scoreboard detail window provides detailed information for all retail items available in the system. The scoreboard provides essential functionalities for managing retail items within the system. Users can easily filter and search through items, create new retail items directly, and import existing items into the RTL module. 

Retail Items Functions & Details

New Retail Item

The New Item function is used for the user to create a new item in the system. 

 
 

Import Existing Item to RTL

The Import Existing Item to RTL function is used when a user searches using the Retail Quick Search or Retail Item Scoreboard but cannot find a retail item they created. In such cases, they would utilize the Import Existing Item to RTL function. 

Reason Item May Not Appear in RTL

There are a few reasons why a retail item might not appear on the retail dashboard:

1. The item was created directly in SAMMS, so the user should use the "Import Existing Item" feature.

2. The "New Retail Item" feature was used to create the product in RTL, but the "Allow Retail Use" flag was set to NO.

 
 
 

Search Here

The retail item window includes smart contextual searching capabilities in the Search Here field that include:

  • Product code
  • UPC
  • SKU
  • Product Description
 
 

Retail Items Details

The total retail items information bar includes:

  • Item #
  • Description
  • Revenue
  • Cost of goods
  • Sales exceptions
  • Low stock
  • Active inventories
  • Valuation
  • Actions
 
 

Action: Copy Item

The Copy Item action function allows users to duplicate an existing item to create a new one.

Be sure to adjust fields like item name, description, details, and status before you select copy.

The popup also provides an advanced options dropdown to duplicate additional fields including retail, inventory and order guides.

Note: UPC numbers and product images will not be copied; users will need to update those fields manually.

 
 

Action: Add to Favorites

Utilizing the Add to Favorites action enables users to quickly access items they wish to monitor closely.

After selecting the Add to Favorites action, the items can be easily located using the Quick Search widget.

 
 

 

Creating a New Retail Item

  1. Click the New Retail Item to create a new product.
  2. Fill in the required fields including commodity, name & base unit. (Highlighted in Red)
  3. After creating the product, the system will navigate the user to the item editor dashboard, where a pop-up notification confirms that "the product has been successfully created." From there, users can add any additional information they deem necessary for the item.
 
 

Importing Existing Item to RTL

Process of Importing Existing Item to RTL

  1. Click the Import Existing Item to RTL to add a RedRock item to the retail dashboard.
  2. Add in the RedRock item# to import the item.
  3. After importing the item, the user will receive a green pop-up notification saying "Existing Item Imported to ITM," indicating that the process has been successfully completed.

 

Accessing the Item Editor

Double-Click

Double-clicking on a retail item navigates the user to the item editor window, where they can view scoreboard and widget information for each section related to the item.
