Creating Offset Accounts

   Step 1: Accessing Offset Accounts

Accessing Offset Accounts

1. Go to Finance→Accounts→Offset Accounts

2. On the View Offset Account toolbar select “New”.

 
 

   Step 2: Creating an Offset Account

Offset Account Details: 2 Columns

1. The Offset Accounts Details page will open, displaying two columns: originating level and destination level.

  1. Originating level is for the property issuing the product. 
  2. Destination level is for the property receiving the product. 
 
 

Offset Account Details: Required Fields

1. Fill in all the required fields. Any field in bold is required and non-bold text is optional.

  1. Property: Select the property codes for Originating and Destination levels. Entity and department are not required.
  2. Transaction: Select a transaction type from the drop down. This is generally set to stock requests.
  3. Debit Account: This is the inter-company (receivable) account from the originating property’s chart of accounts for the destination to property.
  4. Credit Account: This is the inter-company (payable) account from the destination property’s chart of accounts for the destination property.

2. Click “New”. 

 
 

Creating 2 Offset Accounts

Please Note: For each set of properties there will need to be two offset account entries that mirror one another.

Example:

  • First Offset Account – Property 01 is the Originating Level and Property 200 is the Destination Level
  • Second Offset Account – Property 200 is the Originating Level and Property 01 is the Destination Level
 
 

 

Amending Offset Accounts

Updating Offset Accounts

1. Go to Finance→Accounts→Offset Accounts.

2. From the View Offset Account window, check the offset account that needs to be amended, click “update”. 

3. Make the necessary changes and click “update”.

REMINDER: The mirrored account also must be updated. 

 
 

 

Deleting Offset Accounts

Deleting the Offset Account

1. Go to Finance→Accounts→Offset Accounts

2. From the View Offset Account window, check the offset account that needs to be deleted, click “delete”.

3. A pop-up screen will appear, asking you to confirm that you want to delete the record of this offset account. To proceed, click "Yes."

REMINDER: The mirrored account also must be deleted.
